Description
In Thesis I, students will learn the foundations of graduate-level research, including research tools, analysis and synthesis of sources, and methods of documentation. Students will formulate a research question exploring a theoretical topic related to their thesis game and begin the process of examining research literature, current data, and experts in relevant fields as they seek to develop a detailed literature review.
Objectives
- Display control and understanding of the formal conventions of standard written English
- Exhibit familiarity with MLA style approaching (if not yet fully achieving) mastery
- Read and digest scholarly sources and produce meaningful exegeses
- Revise initial Game Design Petition, assess its strengths and weaknesses, and compose a substantially revised and improved roadmap for the creative project
